Method 1: Reinstall Store via Settings

You can try this method if you are using Windows 10 1803 or above.

  1. First, open the Settings app by pressing Windows Key + I
  2. Click on Apps and open Apps and features windows (Option is on the left side of the screen)
  3. Scroll down and look for Microsoft Store entry and click on it
  4. Under that, you will see Advanced options; click on the link.

Method 2: Reinstall all Preinstalled Apps via Powershell

This method will reinstall all the default apps of Windows 10. So, while reinstalling the apps, you might lose the data that is stored in the apps.

  1. Open Windows Powershell on Windows 10. In the search box, type PowerShell and right-click on the PowerShell entry in the result, and then click on Run as Administrator. OR search for Powershell and press Ctrl + Shift + Enter keys together.
  2. Now, copy the given command and paste it in the PowerShell, and press Enter.

  3. Wait for some time; you will also see some errors, but ignore them.
  4. Once the process is completed, open the Start Menu and Search for the app that you want to reinstall. You will see the results.

Method 3: Reinstall Single App via PowerShell

If you don’t want all the apps back, then you can try to reinstall individual apps by using PowerShell. Follow the steps to reinstall a single app.

  1. You must open PowerShell with admin rights. In the search box, type Windows Powershell and do right-click on the results. Then click on the Run as administrator option.
  2. Copy the given below command and paste it in the PowerShell, and press enter.

  3. For example, we are reinstalling the store app. Once the command is executed, scroll down and look for the entry of the Store app and copy the package name.
  4. If you want any other app, then look for it and copy its PackageFullName.

    Add-AppxPackage -register “C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\<PackageFullName>” –DisableDevelopmentMode

NOTE: In the place of PackageFullName, you need to enter the name of Windows Store or any app that you have copied in Step 3. And instead of “C,” you need to put the drive letter of the drive where Windows 10 is installed.
